Christmas Eve

Christmas has come up very quickly this year, since the kids were in school until last Friday December 22nd.  I got to help with both their holiday parties which I always enjoy.  It's so good to see glimpses of what their days at school are like.

Silas and Steve walked in the Christmas parade with the cub scouts, Daphne wanted to watch instead of walking with the girl scouts.  Daphne had a S'mores event with her Girl Scout troupe, fortunately she is friends already with one of the girls in her troupe and will hopefully get to know the others.  Otherwise, we've been up to our usual Christmas activities.  Lola and Jinx visited us again this year, and we went to see Candy Cane Lane last night.  The kids have gotten their presents from the relatives, and they are very excited for Christmas tomorrow.  We went to Scooter's Jungle today which hopefully got them worn out enough to sleep tonight.

New Bike!

Silas upgraded his bike, and he's really enjoyed riding a lot recently.  Steve got a new bike also and has been riding more with him.   Daphne is still most comfortable on her Frozen bike with the training wheels.

Ruby's First Hike

This week the kids are off school and Steve and I are (mostly) off work.  We've been really enjoying the extra time and being able to do a lot with the kids.

Earlier this week we went for a hike at Will Rogers, we had taken the kids before but this time we also took Ruby.  She did great!!  I am so proud of her!!  She was definitely "interested" in other dogs she came across, but no crazy outbursts and I was able to keep her relatively contained.  I really think she enjoyed the hike, she just loves to walk and to go, go, go.  I'll have to try to find some other dog friendly hikes we may be able to try taking her to.

Halloween!

It's hard to believe it's already November, the end of the year is coming up so quickly!  The kids had a great time at Halloween.  Daphne was a witch and Silas was Wario.  Steve dressed up as Waluigi, so I also dressed up as a witch to match Daphne :)

Both kids met up with the friends for a bit of tick or treating around our area, they also had the Halloween parade at school and both had class parties.  I was able to volunteer for both of their classes that day which was a lot of fun.   The weekend before we went to the floating pumpkin patch at Wiseburn.  The kids liked being able to pick their pumpkin out of the pool, and also got some rec swim time.

The kids also made Literacy Lantern entries for school, and the Bears Cub Scout Den hosted a Halloween Carnival for all the scouts.
