Silas was a very adorable construction worker this year, it was the perfect simple costume for him. I found the hat, vest and tools at a yard sale and made him a little tool belt. His preschool hosted a Trunk or Treat event where all the teachers decorated their cars and handed out candy last Saturday, it was really cute and Silas had a lot of fun there.
We've been really bad about taking pictures lately, but were able to take a few at the event.

Our new addition
It still doesn't feel real, but our little girl was born healthy and happy last Monday, Oct 2nd.
After so much worry and anxiety, it is such a relief to have us all home and adjusting to life as a family of four (plus Gilligan). So far, Daphne has been a really easy baby and Steve is still off work this week, so I am getting a lot of opportunity to rest and cuddle with Daphne. I feel so blessed.

Changes in September
This month has been very different for all of us. I've been on leave and Silas started going to preschool. He only goes two mornings a week, but I'm really proud of how quickly he adjusted. He still says it's scary, but also when I pick him up says he has fun.
They don't seem to do much of a "curriculum", but they do have a really nice outside area with some great outdoor toys (including a digger!) so that's something he has enjoyed. We'll see how it goes this year with him part time.
I've been going to the doctor and doing some errands the mornings Silas is in preschool, and the rest of the week we spend together. It has been really great having so much time with him, and being able to do something different every day. A part of me is definitely a little sad about the time with just he and I ending.

End of Summer Picnic
Stephany hosted an end of summer picnic for the kids and families. It was great. The kids got some playtime at the park and she had the music teacher come for a music class. It was really great for us to see Silas playing with his friends.
Silas will really miss it there, but I'm excited that we'll be back in a year.

Summer Fun at Day Care
Silas has been having a busy summer at day care. Every Friday they setup kiddie pools and the kids swim, they have been taking trips to the local park or library every week, and they are cooking!

Polliwog Park
A couple weekends ago we went to Polliwog Park in Manhattan Beach, mainly just for somewhere different to go. We were hoping to be able to feed the ducks, but they had signs posted asking people not to. They do have a nice toddler play area, and Silas had fun climbing just like Fireman Joe!
