Sunday Mornings

Now that Silas is napping about noon, we've had to change our Sunday schedule a little.  We don't have time in the mornings to go anywhere too far and still be home for his nap (unless we get a REALLY early start), but it's too much time to just entertain ourselves at home.  Lately we have been walking around El Segundo Sunday mornings and we took the camera a few weeks ago (yes, I am very behind on posts!)

Disappointed the library is closed

Ball pit!

Silas has been looking back at old pictures, and saw a few pictures of him in a ball pit.  Of course, he got really excited and kept saying "ball pit, ball pit".

We took him to Adventureplex again recently, and he had a great time.  His favorite was definitely the ball pit, but he also had a lot of fun in the upstairs toddler town area.

Family Photos

I decided it had been way too long since we took a family photo, so I setup the tripod and we made an attempt.

Silas wasn't very excited about the idea...

I gave him something to fiddle with, and that kept him a little happier.  But we still had trouble getting a picture with everyone looking...

Out of dozens of photos, we have moderate success!

This exercise did help me remember that setting up the tripod is actually pretty quick and easy.  There will be more attempts in the future!

Another haircut

A few weeks ago Silas got another haircut.  His hair was getting pretty long...

He runs to the camera now whenever I take it out because he wants to look at the pictures of himself.  The only way I could get a picture of him was to run across the room and take photos as he ran after me.

Steve did the haircut this time, here there are reviewing youtube videos for some pointers.  I held Silas during the haircut which helped keep him occupied and from fussing too much.

The after picture...

Water Day!

Stephany setup the water table last Friday for the kids and had another water play day.

Silas absolutely loves it there, and he is doing really well.  He knows the primary colors and has started counting!  He also says "thank you" all the time and frequently puts away toys after he takes them out and brings his dirty dishes back to the kitchen to be washed.  It always surprises me when I see him put something away, I think I need to start having higher expectations for what he can do!

We accidentally got sent home with Lincoln's swim shorts, and Silas keeps pointing at them saying, "Lincoln, Lincoln.  Have fun agua".  It is very cute.  Stephany said he knows all the kids names and even says Gladys and Claudia.

We feel so fortunate to have found this day care for him.  He is eligible to start some pre-schools once he turns two years old, but as long as he is happy and still learning things at Stephany's we will leave him there. Here are some other photos of him at day care over the past few months...

Agua!

We bought annual passes to the Long Beach Aquarium this year, Silas loves it.  It's a great place for young kids and there is so much for him to see.

At the park

We're so lucky to have a nice park and toddler playground within walking distance.  We have spent many hours walking around Rec park, first with Silas in the Ergo carrier when he was little and now at the tot lot.
