Now that Daphne is crawling pretty well, she follows Silas EVERYWHERE. He isn't very fond of his new shadow, but is slowly getting used to it. It's still hard to get a good picture of them together, since Silas doesn't stay still very long.

Happy Mother's Day
We had a nice, but quiet day today. I was inspired to setup the camera and tripod to get a family photo. We got a few decent pictures, considering.... I'm not going to push it! Looking at these makes me realize, I am very blessed!

At the fire station!
One of the parents at Silas' school organized a tour of the El Segundo fire station. It was really interesting and great to meet some of the other parents. Silas was a little apprehensive at first, but then warmed up and seemed to enjoy himself.

The days are long, but the years are short
This year has gone by so fast, I can't believe it is already May. I heard from Stephany, and she has a spot for Daphney starting in September.... which means I'll be back to work then, also.
It was one year ago exactly, May 5th, that we started telling people I was pregnant with Daphne and planning to go on leave from work in September. Back then, September seemed so far off... but now, I feel like it's right around the corner. There are some very long and frustrating days, but I will really miss being home and sharing all the little moments with them. It is a good reminder to be more present, and enjoy those moments. Here are some pictures from an afternoon at home, nothing special. Just us chickens. These are the days I will miss the most.

First Foods
It's hard to believe it, but Daphne is 6 months old already and starting solids! I forget how uncoordinated babies are, but she is doing really well. So far she has had peas and pears, and tomorrow she will try sweet potatoes. The first few months with her were pretty rough, but recently time has gone by so quickly. She is growing up too fast!!!

Blast Off!!
We got a stomp rocket as our anniversary gift this year, and Silas has really enjoyed it. It's a fun toy to launch at the park, and it actually goes pretty high!
5 Year Anniversary
For our anniversary this year, we decided to do a simple family trip to the zoo. We all had a lot of fun, and Daphne did very well. Silas said his favorite animal was the frogs.
