To the Zoo!

We went to the LA Zoo last week as an early celebration of Silas' birthday, we all had a really good time.  It was perfect weather, and both kids were excited to see so many of the animals. 

Otherwise, we are settling well into the new house.  There is still a lot to do, but we are grateful to have this time off work to focus on house projects.  I've been working on the yard quite a bit, and am excited to be able to plant some new things. 

Merry Christmas!!

We are so fortunate to be able to celebrate our first Christmas in our new house.  The first of many!

We moved in last week and have been very busy unpacking, getting settled, and fixing the little things that have popped up.  We definitely have a lot left to do, but have been making great progress.  The kids have done great and been extremely patient during this whole process.  They both are adjusting and seem to like the house.  Silas says his favorite part is the stairs.  I put up a few lights, but looking forward to being able to decorate more next year.

We're moving!!

It doesn't seem real, but we close escrow next week on our house!!  It's exciting, but definitely scary and we have a lot to do in the next couple weeks.   We've started trying to sort and pack what we can, but since we don't want to be living out of boxes for the next two weeks we haven't packed most things yet.   It's definitely a bigger house than we need, but will be good to have the extra space and potential for a guest room/space.

Otherwise we have been busy preparing for Christmas.  Eagles Nest had the Holiday Breakfast again this year, which was a lot of fun.  They had a jumper, train rides and several different crafts.  We also watched the El Segundo holiday parade today, and the kids got lots of candy.  It was definitely sad knowing this was our last year watching it from the condo.  It's so convenient!  One of the many things I will miss about living here.

Daphne has basically potty trained herself, I am still amazed how well she is doing and definitely relieved.  The plan is to send her to Eagles Nest starting in September.  They are growing up so fast!

Here we go again!

We're in escrow again on another house.  We completed inspections and the good news is there wasn't much found, the bad news is that there is foundation issues.  The foundation is in much better shape than the Sheldon house, but has suffered degradation due to moisture and needs to be repaired.  We haven't gotten their projected cost yet, but I'm sure it won't be cheap.  I'm not sure how much the seller will be will to pay either, but we'll see.  We do like this house, but it's already at the high end of our budget, so I don't know how much extra we'd like to pay either.  We'll see what happens!!

So we have been busy with the escrow activities recently.  Our condo inspection is tomorrow, I know there will be at least a few findings but hopefully no major surprises.  If this works out, we'll be moving just before Christmas.  

Otherwise we have been busy at work and the usual parks and some play dates with Hunter on the weekends.  Daphne is talking more and more every day and even started potty training!  I was a little worried about her not even quite being 3 when starting Eagles Nest, but needing to be potty trained by then . She did great this weekend, so I'm sure she'll be fine by next September.  Now I just need to hope she gets in!!

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the Pumpkin Patch with Silas' Eagles Nest class again this year, Daphne went too though I missed getting an pictures of her :(  I have been neglecting taking pictures again lately, and definitely need to do more.   Silas had a lot of fun in the jumpers.  Daphne liked looking at the animals in the petting zoo, but didn't want to actually pet them.  I can't believe we might be going again next year with her class!

We're all doing well.  The kids and I had colds the last week or so, but fortunately not very serious.  Steve and I have been busy at work and STILL house hunting.  We have a couple new prospects, so there's still hope for moving before the end of the year.

To my baby girl,

Happy Birthday!!  I can't believe how fast you are growing up, and how much you are learning every day.  You are determined, strong and independent, yet caring, silly and compassionate.  I can't help but smile when I hear you giggling or singing, and I could watch you taking care of your babies for hours.

It's so peaceful falling asleep next to you at night, and I love still being able to wear you in the Ergo.  I'm sorry for losing my patience and getting frustrated with you sometimes.  Being your Mom is still pretty new for me, and I'm still learning too.  Always know that I love you, no matter what.  I am so proud of you for who you are, and that will never change.

Water Play

Daphne has really loved the water play days at Stephany's so we've also setup the little wading pool for her on our patio.  It has been a great way to beat the heat!
